Opening Text:
Genesis 16:13 (NIV) She gave this name to the Lord who spoke to her: “You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “I have now seen[a] the One who sees me.
The Message
Every reasonable person cares for his reputation. Your status is important but God’s status is much more important to Him. Hear this God is very apprehensive for the reputation of His name. In Psalm 106:8 we read, “Yet he saved them for his name’s sake, to make his mighty power known.” This is the point God’s very own reputation is at palisade in all that He does. His name reveals who God is and He is consistent with His name as an expression of His reputation. Wow! It is remarkable to note that Papa God can be all that concerned about His own reputation.
Our opening verse above shows that Hagar fled from Sarai because she mistreated her. When Hagar had encounter with God she learned the name of God is “the one who sees me.” This implies that another name of our God is “the one who sees me”. Wow! God sees you. He sees your abandonment. God sees when you were maltreated by the same person you trusted and served. God sees you when you gothrough difficult times whether in secret or openly. Hagar discovered that when she was an outcast both from her family and from the family where God was at work, God saw her. God is the one who sees and is faithful to this name in seeing all who are bowed down and oppressed.
Again, remember when God introduced himself to Moses, Moses wanted to know His name so that he could give Israel a name they could rely on. God revealed Himself as “I Am.” Because God could be trusted as the one who is God over all, who is the highest ruler over all, Moses knew that he could go to the enemy camp of Pharaoh with a message from God because he knew that God would go with Him. This is absolutely mind blowing that God pays attention to us at all times and is ready at all times to defend his reputation.
Declarations:
I love my bible
I am what the word says I am
I will become what the word says I will be
I will go to places the word says I should go
I am expensive because I am fearfully and wonderfully made
I am loading the word in my spirit to protect my reputation
I am glad that God sees me and will protect me from dangers
I may have been cast out and condemned by people but God sees me and will bring me in
I know my God is faithful and will surely protect His reputation even for His namesake
Glory!
God bless you
